 Ca l’Arnau (17th C.) is the farmer worker's house of the main farmer house named Mas El Fontanil (17th C.).It is placed in the town of Cogolls, in Les Planes( www.webgipal.net/lesplanes/ ), in the region of the Garrotxa of Girona.

El Fontanil is an enormous farmer where it live the Arnau family. They are one of the few families that still that dedicate themselves to the agriculture and stockbreeding.

Francesc Arnau was born in the Fontanil. He is a professional soccer player. Nowadays he is the CF Malaga's goalkeeper and he was FC Barcelona's goalkeeper.

You can find the farm very easy:                                                                                                                                             You can turn right to the paved way, that there is at the exit of Les Planes, Olot direction.                                          

After 3,5 km you can arrive at the center of the village (church). Before to arrive it (the church) you have to turn right.                                                                                                                                                                                                              You can pass on a sand way, and you can see El Fontanil and Ca l'Arnau.

Ca l’Arnau ia a building with three flats. It has two restored independent accommodation. It has a total capacity for sixteen persons.

The two superiors floors have  90 m² each one. There are two accommodation with the same charachteristics. Every accommodation has a capacity indiviually of eight persons. From the main door you can go in and you can see a big room composed by a kitchen, a dining place and a living room. For each accommodation there are two marriage's rooms, two doubles rooms and two toilets.There is also the possibility to put some additional bed there if it was necessary, as well as a child bed.

We put name at the bedrooms, for example mint, tyme.... There are medicine plants typical of Cogolls.

 First floor:

A kitchen with everything necessary for to cook, vitro, washer, microwave and dishwasher.

In the living-room are TV, sofa, home of fire..

-If you know how it is the authentic live in the catalan field you have to visit us!!! The main work of the family Arnau is farmer, for this reason the hosts can see the diferent activities that it do in this house, for example cultivating the land, grow up and look after  animals like cowns, pigs, hens, chickens, ducks... Moreover, it is necessary to mention the cowns grazing for the fiels, under the surveillance of the dogs.                

 -A field for to play anything.

 -If you like  to walk you can do long or short walks for the zone, because the farme house is in away place of the cities and the noises of the cars. The routes recommended are:

-Visit to the castel Castell d'Hostoles, where only it preserves the old structure. And visit the other castel, Castell de Puig Alder, where only there is a chapel named Sant Salvador.

-A walk for any of ther forest of Cogolls, where you can see oak groves, oak wood...

-The volcano El Traiter.

- The Serra of Medes. 

 -River of Cogolls. During the river we can see small and medium waterfalls. It is perfect for to take a bath. The main waterfalls are:

- The popular waterfall named (to 800 m of house). The water goes down of the waterfall and it put into a  enormous pond.

- The Fontanil's caves placed under of the rural house. These caves of calcareous rock have been formed with the time, because the water is calcified. For this reason there is this fantastic waterfall.

 -Visit to the Romanesque church of Sant Cristòfol de Cogolls (10th C) and the small church of Sant Pelegrí (19th C).


                                                                 

-The second sunday of october is celebrate the party of Cogolls in front of the chapel Sant Pelegrí. There are mass, popular lunch, traditional catalan music...

 -In the Planes you can find one of the centers of equitation of the Garrotxa, named La Curenya.

 -In  Olot you can visit the volcanic zone and the La Fageda (the beechwood) and you can do travels in globe...
